Solo Chess Piece ~
This lone horse is a mystery. Like a noble guardian, this handsome sculpture sits at the entry to an abandoned parking lot of a business that is long gone. A knight without a rider, indeed!
My theory is that this was once an Italian restaurant, "Godfather's Pizzeria", and it was so good that it got mobbed by patrons every weekend, taking business away from other pizzarias. So one day this Horse Head, as a symbolic ode to a certain movie, was put up by Ma Fia. The restaurant closed immediately.
What a weird thing to leave. Was it some kind of equestrian store?
