Ancient Inspiration ~
According to our Taliesin West tour guide, this petroglyph inspired Frank Lloyd Wright's logo for the property. He thought the glyph looked like two hands entwined. The rock is near the entrance to the property.
Hi Elizabeth! Actually he came to Arizona for his health and decided to build a winter home here. It was completed in 1937 and Wright enjoyed it for 22 years until his death.
Interesting that Wright designed Falling Water and then went to a completely desert environment. He enjoyed challenges, I think :)
