Anyone know if JoJo was a real person from the Beatles' "Get Back" song? I found this info on Wiki:In the 2007 film,
Across the Universe, directed by
Julie Taymor,
most characters are named after lyrics in Beatles songs. A principal
character is named Jojo, an African American who was played by
Martin Luther McCoy.
I've got a little interesting information about Paul McCartney which sheds a tiny bit of light on the question of Jojo...Did you know that Paul and Linda (his wife who was born in Tucson) had a house in Tucson near the end of Tanque Verde, near the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch? Well, I know a little bit more about Paul and Linda because my mom was the legal secretary of the property lawyer who sold them that home (back in the 70s, I think) and that attorney became very good friends with them. Mom never met them, but she talked with Linda and a bit with Paul...so she knew exactly when the McCartneys would be in town, something the rest of Tucson wanted to know!! A little inside information, haha!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous story!! How fun!! I have just returned to Tucson from a week in NY so I was not able to respond to your post until now. The story is that he had a black helicopter that flew him around town. I don't know if he still has that ranch. No one seems to talk about him any more.
