Southwest Good Luck Charm ~

You know you're in the Southwest when you see strands of drying chile peppers (ristras). Ristras are hung in front of a home to welcome visitors and to bring good luck.

Happily, good luck wishes endure from year to year!
Hi David, YES! On the corner of Speedway and Houghton and on Sabino Canyon Road near Cloud I regularly see vendors in the fall selling strings and heart-shaped ones, too.
Love this custom. I always enjoyed seeing them on our frequent winter vacations in Santa Fe in years past.
