So true about what the eye "sees"...for awhile there was an email going around that had a paragraph written in what first appeared to be gibberish, but was actually legible because just enough consonants and vowels had been left in to 'guide' the brain to put the right word in. It's a little bit like txting these days, don't you think?!!
Hey Elizabeth - I remember that piece of text circulating, too. There was an explanation of how the eye and the brain merge symbols and fill in the gaps to allow us to make sense of it. Fascinating!
