Special moon sky ~

I hope you all enjoyed the BIG perigee moon this weekend. The conditions that create this "Super Moon" are rare - occurring about every 18 years. During this perigee moon it appears to be about 14% bigger and 30% brighter. Read all about what the folks at NASA say about it here.

  1. It was big this weekend. My camera was not able to get a picture though of it.

  2. Hi Mike, Me, neither. I use just a simple point and shoot digital camera and it has its limits. I couldn't get a true night time sky that showed the huge moon. This photo is actually a moon SET photo that I took in the morning and it was setting in the west.
