HA!! FUNNY!...maybe everybody is trying to see around the tall guy wearing 2 hats?! And the two in the forefront are seriously putting the BARREL in Barrel Cactus!
Based on Roberta's comments I did a little research and found that these cacti are sometimes called "Compass Cactus" and they generally lean in a southwest direction. Interesting!
Yes, they do lean, but I couldn't recall exactly which way. Thanks for researching. I know that a short (young) saguaro grows straight up, so you can tell the difference between the two out on a desert hike ;-)
Love the Southwest? Love Tucson? Every day on "Tucson Daily Photo" you'll see a new image that might be beautiful, unusual, fun, or maybe even inspirational.
Welcome!

I'm a transplanted New Yorker who loves the Tucson climate. On New Year's Day I have a bit of fun calling my (snowbound) east coast friends to announce that I'm drinking coffee while sitting on my patio. (:
HOW FUNNY! You are right! They look like they are craning their necks to see the bus!
ReplyDeleteI do love those barrel cactus. I think they lean towards sunrise or sunset. I can't remember which.
ReplyDeletevery nice picture!
