We're still getting warnings about freezing temperatures. These homeowners have topped their cactus with styrofoam cups to prevent frost damage. I have never heard of this method - anyone have an opinion? Whatever works, I guess!

I'm a transplanted New Yorker who loves the Tucson climate. On New Year's Day I have a bit of fun calling my (snowbound) east coast friends to announce that I'm drinking coffee while sitting on my patio. (:

ReplyDeleteStyrofoam is mostly encapsulated air so it makes a very good insulator. Just like those styro coolers we see everywhere.
