Tucson's Lethal Lizard ~

The Gila Monster is one of just two venomous lizards in the world and it makes its home here in the Sonoran Desert. This one was caught on Susan Dodson's backyard wildlife cam. Beautiful creatures but leave them alone - they are listed as endangered. To hear what they sound like and to learn more about them, click here.

Gas & Dry Clean? How handy!

 

Check this out! This dry cleaner is about to open in a building that was an old Texaco gas station! I laughed when I saw the signs over the service bays:  "Dry Clean" and "Laundry." Wouldn't it be nice to drop off your laundry while you get your tank filled?  Love those old time gas pumps! FUN!

Here's a friendly, unpretentious neighborhood bar where hard working guys grab a few cold ones on their way home. I have heard that the Elbow Room has a line out the door on Friday night as couples, families, seniors, and just about everyone else tucks into their pretty famous fish fry.

Do you know why this popular steak house looks like a mosque? Was it ever a mosque? For about 25 years Shooters restaurant has been serving steaks and burgers and beer at their Prince Road location. It was a Middle Eastern restaurant before Shooters took it over. The belly dancers are long gone...
