Five planets are visible in Tucson's night sky this month! The sky on the 21st showed us a young moon and Venus visible right after nightfall. Beautiful!
Always amazing to think that we can be 1500 miles apart and see the same sky! When we left a restaurant last night I saw this "eyelash" moon" and the bright star and immediately grabbed my camera...glad you did, too!
Well I was on a residential street near campus and driving west. I was admiring the beautiful deepening blue of the sky and saw Venus near the moon. I waited until I could pull over for a good shot with some landscape detail. And Roseann - I used my phone camera! It was all I had in the car with me.

I'm a transplanted New Yorker who loves the Tucson climate. On New Year's Day I have a bit of fun calling my (snowbound) east coast friends to announce that I'm drinking coffee while sitting on my patio. (:
A-maz-ing photo! How did you do it?

ReplyDeleteP.S. So I guess it's a combination Mississippi-Tucson moon, ha!
