Memorial - just a few days short of 14

Here is my precious boy, Nanook. Next week he would have celebrated his 14th birthday so he had a good long life filled with lots of adventures. He was fascinated by cats and I was able to capture him staring at a neighbor's cat - funny photo! He was a gentle and patient boy with the sweetest of personalities. Very easy going except with needles! My vet always had to use a tiny pediatric needle on him when he got his shots. I will miss him more than I can describe... but I know he is no longer in pain and is already chasing rabbits (and maybe cats, too!). Goodbye my wonderful friend.

  1. You definitely have my sympathy; it is hard to lose a faithful friend and pet. Our Maggi is know 15, getting along but getting slower and taking on the qualities of a very old dog. Remember all the love that you gave Nanook and then smile.

  3. always hard. good to document your memories; I've found the specifics blur if I wait too long (and it can be good therapy). I still love and think regularly of every furry family member I've shared my life with. my thoughts are with you...and it will be hard, but that fades too and so many of the warm, happy memories remain

  5. Hi Ellen, Thanks for your note. Oh I have many photos of him. And about a month ago I made a video of him howling with my little Australian Shepherd. Hilarious! And yes, I think regularly of all my furry friends, too. Tonight I saw a rainbow that looked like it was resting on my roof and I thought of him crossing the rainbow bridge. Nanook is gone but will never be forgotten. Dianne

  6. I dreamt about him the night after he went to heaven. I knew him longer than any dog and I know you and Jasper will miss him. Life goes on and I'm sure it will be interesting to see J change and start a new chapter in life. Bye Nanook.
