You may remember the iconic "Stairway to Paradise" as sung and danced in American in Paris. Ah, yes, the lighted pink staircase! Go here to refresh your memory! Here is a modern sculptor's vision of that same voyage as seen on the grounds of Hacienda del Sol Resort in Tucson, AZ.

This is a fun sculpture. I like how bits of the background are framed in the footprints. I can't emphasize how much I love old movies. I just requested American in Paris from the library. I usually watch a few every week. Sometimes I watch a bunch of movies with one actor or a theme. Sometimes what ever catches my eye on the shelf. I should look for movies filmed around Tucson.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy! Old movies are a favorite of mine, too! I love the b/w films of Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, etc etc. LOTS of movies and TV shows have been filmed in Tucson and here is a link to 5 "modern" ones: https://tucson.com/entertainment/movies/modern-movies-that-were-filmed-in-tucson/collection_b9eceffe-63c5-11e5-80d6-8312ff318885.html#1
