The Calvary Tucson Church hosts a live nativity each year and it is quite a spectacle! The wonderful donkey, Jasmine, and the "sheep" (really a GoldenDoodle dog), Otis, are scene stealers. The church is set up like an ancient Bethlehem bazaar and the variety of shops and craftspeople in period dress is just astonishing. This retelling of the birth of Jesus is quite memorable when depicted in this way.
Oh, I wish I had known about this! I've spent many Christmas' in Italy and it's so common all over the country. I've seen so many Italian Living Nativities time for a Tucson Living Nativity!
