It must be hard to imagine what our monsoon season is like if you haven't seen it with your own eyes. Here is a cube of sunshine with a wall of water pushing in on it. And where I was standing to take the photograph - not a drop!

I'm a transplanted New Yorker who loves the Tucson climate. On New Year's Day I have a bit of fun calling my (snowbound) east coast friends to announce that I'm drinking coffee while sitting on my patio. (:
I was always amazed when a quick shower of rain would come down across the street and not a drop on our house.
