Back by popular demand!

My "slightly famous" pumpkin cake was requested at a party this weekend. The batter was a red velvet and the frosting was tinted cream cheese and butter. Some sparkling orange sugar crystals completed the decoration. And the pumpkin stem? I will share my trade secret with you - it's an ice cream cone with green frosting! YUM!

  1. Absolutely Love it!! I made a Pumpkin Cake for my daughter's (22!) birthday last weekend, but I found a super simple recipe which used Spice Cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin puree! It's in a bundt pan (like yours?) but I never thought to use orange icing or create a pumpkin stem! maybe next year and then I'll be able to use your Secret Pumpkin Stem idea! Really makes me smile :)

    1. Thanks, Kate! It's one of those sweet surprises that is made from the commonest of ingredients! A bundt cake is just a bundt cake until it has orange frosting and an ice cream cone stuck in the center! (:
