What a rare gift to see ~ here is a mother hummingbird tending to her newborn babies. To give you a sense of scale, the eggs of a hummingbird are about the size of a jellybean. The nests are TINY and virtually invisible to anyone without a trained eye. Please join me in thanking Tucson photographer and artist Cita Scott for sharing these remarkable, beautiful photos with us! To view her artwork, click here.
I'm a transplanted New Yorker who loves the Tucson climate. On New Year's Day I have a bit of fun calling my (snowbound) east coast friends to announce that I'm drinking coffee while sitting on my patio. (:
WOW! The mother is like a sparkling emerald sculpture! Beautiful, beautiful - thank you, Cita Scott!ReplyDelete
Gorgeous! Thank you Cita Scott! It looks like you had to climb up pretty high to get those shots of babies inside the nest, well done :-) ...in that first picture, it looks like the nest has some pasta pieces around the outside! Mama hummer looks so proud.ReplyDelete
