Tucson YWCA ~ A Window of Opportunity for Girls

This striking portico forms the front entryway for the Frances McClelland Leadership Center, a beautiful YWCA facility dedicated to Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women. If you stand in the east parking lot, Tucson's famed "A Mountain" (site of the annual fireworks display) is framed in one of the red trimmed lattice "windows." Every angle of this building is interesting. It was locked up when I stopped by so I couldn't take any interior photos during this visit.

  1. It is striking! And my simple "point and shoot" camera wasn't able to capture the beauty of the small inset tiles - they are irridescent and sparkle/glow in the sunlight.

  2. I can't tell you how pleased I was to get this link and to know you appreciate the beauty of our buildng as much as we do. It is a pleasure to come to work everyday ---- Jesus Castro is the architect and Diversified Design and Construction was our contractor.
