Crawling along with the construction ~

Downtown Tucson has been a construction zone 24/7 for more than a year now and I, for one, am really getting tired of it. They are laying tracks for a "modern streetcar" and in the midst of that there is also a lot of building construction as well - new apartment buildings, new restaurants, new bars.... Here's a view of the Visitors' Center plaza from my car window as I crawled along one-lane Congress inching east.

  1. Let's hope for a new positive economy on top of it... :-)

  2. We stayed away from downtown this year and missed it. Hopefully we can get down there next year when we visit.

  3. Oh it's just the driving confusion that is annoying to me.... All of the improvements downtown are sure to be totally great when finished! Nothing like some new restaurants to pull people downtown. Soon I'll do a walk around down there and post some in-the-works photos to show the big picture.

  4. I have a good friend who works for the Planning dept. of the City of Tucson and she is very involved in the streetcar design...and SO excited about it and how unique it will be for downtown!! She has faced a lot of criticism for the idea, but she is very positive of its benefits....once the construction phase is a memory!!

Diane, I look forward to your in-the-works photos:-)
